This is one worth talking about. It has been debated that because of the things that AI is doing nowadays, people have become very dependent on machines, which makes people lazy more often than not. What do you think?
I hope so, or we'll be graduating a lot of "geniuses".My guess is that math and science courses, for instance, will still demand "work shown to get an answer", and exams are not done outside of the classroom.
The AI stuff is massively fake. I don't enjoy replying to bots all the time, especially when the bots are supposed to be real people. Well, let's at least have chatbots that we know are chatbots and members who are members and post human content.I think it is.
I'm a member of a lot of forums. A few of them, I've been a member of for years. I was a member before ChatGPT started.
I've significantly noticed a change in the voices of some of the admins and regular members of some of the forums I'm on. I can tell they're using AI to post content.
I'll still reply because some of the content is replying to, but at the end of the day, they're lazy and letting AI think of them. That's a problem, folks. If we quit using our brains, we'll definitely have cognitive and memory loss as we age. If we get lazy and let AI do everything, we might reach the sad point of not knowing who our loved ones are when we're old.
Food for thought, while you can still think about that.
I think a majority of them are real, but they're copy and pasting what they generate from AI.The AI stuff is massively fake. Yeah, it's dumb and retarded, lol (no offense to anyone). I mean, when these fake posters come on, it sounds like Ernest on "Ernest Goes to School". It sounds like some college professor, and I know for sure it ain't the person talking.I think a majority of them are real, but they're copy and pasting what they generate from AI.
Their voices change.
Look at how they posted before ChatGPT and look at it now. It's totally different. That's how you tell AI is being used. But they're still the real people that we've known all this time at the end of the day.
They're just lazy, LOL.
In math courses, you have to show your work, and you have to show your work in exams where AI cannot possibly be used.I don't think its as bad as you label it.
I think it will hurt them later on, like I said, though. It's like schools that no longer teach cursive, just enough to sign your name. They say, no one uses it anymore. However, cursive is like learning another language. Take that away and that's one less intelligence that a kid could have to fully utilize their brain functions.
If we get too lazy, we'll forget who we are in no time as we age. That's scary and depressing to think about. I really love my wife and I tremble at the thought of me or her not knowing each other.
I think we did wrong when we introduced a calculator in school! In math courses, you have to show your work, and you have to show your work in exams where AI cannot possibly be used.
That's not changing that I know of.
I think as long as you use AI as a tool and use your own voice, it’s good to use. That’s what it’s for.Yeah, it's dumb and retarded, lol (no offense to anyone). I mean, when these fake posters come on, it sounds like Ernest on "Ernest Goes to School". It sounds like some college professor, and I know for sure it ain't the person talking.![]()
But others are using it to replace their creativity, it seems.I think as long as you use AI as a tool and use your own voice, it’s good to use. That’s what it’s for.
It was built to be used as a tool and to help others.
Well, in regard to Calculus, for instance, calculators aren't a big deal in exams unless the calculator literally does every step in the procedure rather than just pumping out individual numbers.I think we did wrong when we introduced a calculator in school!
Really, think about it.
Working it out in your head or on paper versus magical buttons that give you an instant result really hurts your brain power.
I get that but before calculators, when we had to work it all out without them, we used more brain power.Well, in regard to Calculus, for instance, calculators aren't a big deal in exams unless the calculator literally does every step in the procedure rather than just pumping out individual numbers.
