Streaming platforms have made movies more accessible than ever. Streaming also has the cut the cost of movie watching. I think this is a positive change for the film industry not just for the audience. What do you think, is streaming good for movie industry as well.

Yeah it is good, I feel because anyway people are not going to stop going to the theaters to watch movies.

I feel that streaming has been great for the movie industry. I remember when I was a kid, you used to have to wait so long before a movie was released after it had been in the cinema or to even see if air on the TV, nowadays you are able to see a new movie not too long after it has hit the cinema.

I think it's both good and bad. It is good because it has brought movies closer to the people and made them discover talents they otherwise would not unless they were avid movie goers anyway.

However, streaming has put a lot of strain on production houses because they have to consistently produce new material. The pressure was not so high in the early days because there was about 100 years of material to watch, but people have already gone through all that content, the best of it, or the releases they are interested in and production houses now have to churn out more content than ever before.

This has meant two things; movies and TV shows have become more expensive, and most of them have become worse.

The first is that people expect high-quality productions in short periods, which means bigger crews and the latest technology, both of which are quite expensive.

The second is because production houses no longer have the time to put as much care into each project, which dilutes the overall quality of their work.

These days most people don't even go for antennas or satellite dish, they just make use of various streaming services like Netflix or Amazon prime and they get all the entertainment they need.

Streaming as always assisted me in the discovery of new movie or show. The streaming platform allows filmakers to display their works in easier ways . Netflix and other streaming platforms introduced me to some great series and movies that I might not be exposed to normally.
Streaming exposed you to Moore movies you mean? How were you able to get movies before the streaming services came along?

It makes watching movie convenient as one could watch whenever one wants and at one's own pace. More movies are being produced and made available on different streaming platforms which benefits the industry.
I completely agree with you! These streaming services have become a new way of watching movies for most of the people. The main reason is that it makes it convenient and easier to access movies than before.

I still prefer to watch movies in cinema but yes for old movies that are not available in Cinema, it's best to take help of these OTT apps.

Streaming platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime have transformed how we watch movies. In my case, I prefer streaming now because it is more convenient and affordable. than watching movies at the theater. I can rewatch some of my favorite movies and I can do it at any time that I like.

Streaming drastically changed movie-watching from a fun-going total experience to just a pastime activity.

I remember going to the VHS stores and picking out the tapes (and DVDs), carefully reading the back of them to see if it'd be something that I'd want to watch with my family, and wife as up until even the late 2010s we had rental stores here, to now just a quick guess and pick. Being able to rent a movie often took as long as the movie itself, with going out to eat and all on the trip.

Streaming definitely took some of the (family) activity out of movie-watching.

However, I will still have a full-blown theater experience in about the same fashion as renting movies.

I completely agree with you In that respect, I also know that streaming has really stolen the experience of watching movies and it has made it even much more convenient. That is not to say I didn't miss going through various video rental stores. Yeah! I did and I still remember vividly how I used to go there to rent movies.

My family's VHS player is still good. I was doing clean up last weekend and came upon a box full of old VHS tapes my father had hidden. Guess what VHS tapes they were? Porn tapes 😂 😂. I couldn't stop laughing.

Oh! It's a kind of thing that should remain a secret. Don't tell anyone about it 🤣. Streaming has really kicked out our conventional way of watching movies. Before, if we wanted to see a movie again then we had to rewind the video but now it's just a click and watch.

I have a lot of good memories using the VHS player to watch so many movies as a kid.

By the way, if you know and used this VHS tape rewinding hand tool, you should be married by now 😂

One of the greatest things to occur because of popularity of streaming is the end of a movie rental company called Blockbuster, which was once the biggest movie rental service in the US

I think the video streaming services are extremely useful for the seniors. It keeps it simple for them to watch great movies without actually having to go out. In this way, they can watch both brand new and old movies at the comfort of their home.

In my opinion, streaming is the best way to go. It makes a lot of sense because they are cheaper, very convenient, and I can even watch the movies I like anytime I want. I can take a break and resume later which is something I cannot do at the cinema.
