discuss How does climate change impact outdoor sports?

A thread for live match analysis, player performances, scores, highlights, fan predictions, and general sports discussions across all sports.
I watch a lot of football (soccer to Americans) and in hot countries it's becoming more and more dangerous for people to play competitively in the summer due to the heat. We only have to look at the fact that the last World Cup was rescheduled to the winter just for player safety reasons because of the temperatures in Qatar in the summer.

For local games, I don't see a reason why any weather would disrupt as you're used to those weather conditions. It only really matters when you have teams competing across major borders.

This reminds me of the time I was first sent to Japan and we had to acclimatize (get used to the higher temperatures) for 30 days before excessive exertion (i.e., running 3+ miles, etc.).

After some time, your body will be able to handle the conditions thrown at it. I don't think the weather will fluctuate that much over such a rapid period that humans can't evolve to it. That said, it shouldn't be an issue in our lifetimes, in my opinion, nor the lives of those in the future if the temperatures do rise as there will be a natural evolution that could take place.
