I’m always hunting for something new to add up to my playlist, how do you usually find good music? By just going through the social feeds of your favorite artist or listening to the radio every now and then? I just want to know how to find out new music to groove to.

I discover new music from Spotify. I incredibly love how they create playlists like Discover Weekly and Release Radar because I always use the features to discover a super cool artist or track I never knew existed. I follow all my favorite music influencers on Instagram too because they share really amazing new releases.

For new songs or artist recommendations, one alternative would be checking some online communities regarding music. It could be the subreddit title on reddit or specific discord servers for that genre. These are filled with legit music fans sharing and talking about the latest releases.

I find new recommendations with YouTube (sometimes) pushing new music to me. However, it doesn't do it as often as I'd like, as I like to listen to much more than just the same 50 songs on repeat. It would be nice if they could pop in a new song or two every 10 that I've listened to before, at least 5 times.

AM I the only one here who doesnt actively hunt for music?

I have three main ways for getting hold of new music

1. Through reels - the baground music is an effective way to keep tabs on new and trending songs

2. When I go to movies and something hits my head very much

3. My friends who share their favourite songs on social media.

But its no active hunt, it comes as it comes. Otherwise I am stuck with my own playlist.

I also use spotify, but I also find a lot of songs while browsing social media or watching videos on Tiktok. I’m always on the hunt for good music to add to my collection.
