You need to make a decision that you don't want to have that in your life any more, and then you need to close all the doorways that lead to it. Then introduce something new in your life that can normally take up that time. Something like going to the gym or joining an interest group—try something new. Addictions seem to have patterns, so those patterns need to change and be replaced with something that is going to be healthier for you. The only way to cut out an addiction is to starve it. There's an old saying that goes, " In a dog fight, the dog who wins is the one that is fed the most." It won't be easy because your mind can also conjure up images you've already seen, but it is doable.
