Christopher Nolan barred Guy Pearce from acting in his productions. He was rejected after the two-time Oscar nominated movie, Memento (2000) in several Nolan movies.

However, resources gathered that a Bros representative spoke quite bluntly to Guy’s agency and said, I don’t get Guy Pearce. I will never get Guy Pearce on camera. That is why there is no way I will ever hire Guy Pearce.

That's rather a very blunt statement in the open. Guy's was worried on why some of the actors were engaged and he could not.

I like Guy Pearce and I like Christopher Nolan. However, if Christopher Nolan does not want Guy Pearce in his movies, it is absolutely his choice. Some movie makers have their own favorite actors to work with.
