I'm Scottish but living in California the past 13 years.

I don't mean to be stereotypical, but were you, or are you, a whiskey drinker? If so, how does the selection in the typical US liquor store compare to that in Scottland? Japan is pretty big on whiskey too, if going for anything other than rice liquor, but I found most of the selection to be comparable to jugs (half-gallons), which is just awful stuff.

I drank a half pint of whiskey for a dare when I was 15 years old lol... Needless to say I have never touched a drop of whiskey since, so I cannot answer your question hahaha

I'm glad you didn't die or had good people around you to watch over you.

I had a friend drink a 750mL bottle, by essentially chugging it, and if it weren't for sober people to be around, he would've choked on his vomit as he'd constantly need to be turned on his side. Thinking back on it, it still could've killed him due to alcohol poisoning, which we weren't aware of beyond the vomiting, so we're lucky that didn't happen and he's still around.

But like you, he can't touch the stuff anymore (vodka though).
