I can't really blame them. The Soviet Union once held East Germany as a puppet.

It seems there is no one to put Russia to stop. I see them oppressing and attacking Ukraine at every opportunity. This has led to so many countries building up their military because they knew it is possible for Russia not to stop at Ukraine's border.

I am hearing that many countries in the EU are preparing for war and it doesn't surprise me at all. Russia are showing no signs of stopping or wanting a peace deal, no matter what is offered,d and I fear it will only get worse.

Germany is not gearing up towards anything.

Germany has a debt ceiling of 0.35% of GDP (one of the most frugal clauses in a debt ceiling act by any country) and now they have passed a debt brake amendment act modifying this so as to take more public debt.

A country of this fiscal health is not going to go into another war.

Just my analysis.
