movie Erin Brockovich (2000)

I recently watched Erin Brockovich for the second time, over probably 10 to 15 years, since it was released in 2000.

You just don't quite see a movie like this anymore, in that, it's inspiring and shows, as it's a true story, the persistence and payoff of living the American Dream. Only in America, and a few other places in the world, do you have the opportunity to start from nothing and easily become a somebody when you know how to tap into the right resources and use what you do know to build a name for yourself.

As far as the story goes, it's about PG&E poisoning a small town's water supply leading to possibly a couple of deaths, lots of cases of cancer, and other such diseases from the chemicals in the water.

While I don't want to give up the story too much, PG&E had to pay out. However, no amount of money can bring back the losses that some of the town's victims suffered through.

If you like legal, law enforcement, or courtroom dramas, this is a movie that you must watch too. Not only for the story, but also for the motivation it could give as it demonstrates that hard work does pay off.
