Secularism is a modern concept of governance, and religious influence in politics is highly contested. Some believe that religion provides moral guidance to the government, whereas others argue that it has no place in state affairs. Should laws reflect religious values if the majority supports them? How do we balance religious freedom with policies that must apply to a country where diverse faiths are practiced?

I don't agree Chrisitianity has a place in public schools in the US or other areas of the public sphere and the lack of it isn't the source of the troubles in society (what fundamentalists want to believe is the case).

Note: this doesn't mean I'm opposed to the Bible's teachings, though, only that there's a difference between stuff that's on paper and what's really done. Take a religious school, for instance, they have as many good vs bad kids as public schools (I'm thinking.) so the religious instruction isn't affecting that situation.
