I enjoy listening to songs from other countries, particularly English and Korean music. My appreciation for Korean songs started during the height of the pandemic, when people were staying at home and seeking ways to have fun. The first Korean band I really liked was BTS. Do you enjoy listening to foreign songs as well?

Not in particular. Since I'm into lyrics above the beat, and I can't understand what they're saying, it just makes my brain tickle when I hear it.

PSY - GANGNAM STYLE is the only foreign song that will come on from time to time, and I play it for nostalgia reasons, as it was the first video to break 1 billion views on YouTube which "broke" the view counter.

Personally, I don't like it so much when it comes to listening to songs I don't know what they are singing about. If I can get the song's lyrics in English, I wouldn't mind but when I get nothing, it doesn't go so well with me.

Where the heck is PSY right after his hit song GANGNAM STYLE? He's one of the best one time music wonder who disappeared afterwards.

Looks like he's still touring live, and if you look at the channel, releasing music. His stuff is never going to come close to the hit, as that bar is pretty high, set by himself.

I believe there was some sort of social movement at the time to push it to 1,000,000,000 views, which certainly helped expose it to many more.

Seriously, it felt like the guy was going to rock the music industry for decades after dropping that banger but it wasn't as we all anticipated. I didn't even know he was still doing live tour as I thought he just up and went into exile 😂. I'll have him checked out once again to see what he has been up to.

I had to quickly glance at the channel. A music video with 7,000,000 views just will never reach 5,400,000,000 views set... unless there's another social movement to get PSY back to another billion views.

I do miss the easter egg that YouTube put on the old view counter. They should've carried it over to the new position as it did force them to update their database as 1 billion views wouldn't be accepted as an entry.

Quick math on that, and even if he made 20 cents per CPM (1000 views), he made $1,000,000 off that song alone. But, that song launched him into worldwide touring, interviews, and whatnot, which probably made him multi-millions more.

I listen to English music, English is basically a foreign language. I also sometimes listen to Bollywood music, which is also a foreign language music for me. I don't listen to a song just for the beats, I also listen for the lyrics, therefore, if I don't understand the language, I do not listen to it. I remember Gangnam Style and Gentleman afterwards but I did not listen to these songs.

As long as the foreign song is something I can understand and relate with, I would always listen to it. And enjoy it too. I am African and I idolize a lot of American singers. I also listen to British and Spanish music.

When it comes to music, I don't think it's necessary to do the translation between different languages. I also listened to a lot of foreign songs. Sometimes, I just groove to the beats. I listened to american, British and Spanish music. They are all great!

Ah Gangnam style! Legend has it that the guy united the world with that song. No where you go that the song and dance is not known.

I enjoy listening to foreign songs like the songs of Bruno Mars, Celine Dion, and Celina Gomez.
Bruno Mars is Filipino and Puerto Rican; Celine Dion cracked the American market after originally recording in French. Did you dig into some of their songs in a language different from the Englsih? a few of Celine Dion's French albums are quite lovely to me.
