discuss Do you binge watch a TV show as soon as you start a new series?

This is a thread to discuss anything related to television shows or series.
I tend to wait until at least 3 or 4 seasons of a TV series have aired before I begin watching it. So many times there will be a good show that suddenly gets dropped in the 2nd season without any closure, which is really obnoxious.

Preferably, I wait until the series ends and then watch it in its entirety, binging a couple episodes a day to a week, depending on how I can allot my time.

Yep my wife and I tend to do this! We've been watching Supernatural for the first time, and we usually binge watch a few episodes at a time. We just started Season 5 the other night, and we're already on episode 6 I believe of the season.

Tell us more about it so we can decide if we want to start binging it too! :-P

I binge watch TV shows to unwind and pass time. I’m a big fan of TV shows and rarely miss my favorite. I remembered when I was watching Mara & Clara, I would postpone all my work till the episodes ended. That's how far I can go with TV shows, especially if it’s full of suspense. I use it to escape from stress after having a long day..

I also watchTV series back to back. Whenever I begin with a new show, I easily get addicted to it such that stopping becomes a problem. It’s like there is this one thing within which pushes me to keep watching it..

My friends mock me that I have PHD in binge-watching 🤣 but that is how I relax. Some of the shows that I have watched over the years from start to finish without missing even one episode are Stranger Things, The Office and Game of Thrones among others.

It's a hobby for you which some of your friends wouldn't understand because they are not into it like you do. I bet there's something which they are into like that which they give so many hours when they are at it.

When it comes to watching TV shows, I always like to binge watch. I am never satisfied with one episodes, I need to watch multiple episodes. Sometimes I even watch the entire season.

You are exactly like me. I started waiting for TV shows to run for three or four seasons before watching them. I do not like how streaming services and studios cancel TV shows after one season, especially ones I am invested in that end in cliffhangers.

This is not to say TV shows with more seasons do not end in cliffhangers. I equally hate it when I am five seasons into a show and find out it never had a satisfactory conclusion or closure.

I also like to take my time when watching a new show. I'll watch one or two episodes and then stop. It's more fun for me to wait and see what happens next.
I wish I could do that, but sometimes the shows are just too good and suck me in for a third, fourth, and sometimes even fifth episode. 😅

Sometimes it is really hard to stop the temptation of watching multiple episodes. When an episode has a cliff hanger, you would certainly want to know what will happen, so you end up watching another episode and then another episode.
I totally agree! Teasers make me want to watch more because I would be eager to see what occurs next. The suspense is too good to wait. I just want to jump right into it immediately.
