French President Emmanuel Macron Addresses Nation In Wake Of U.S. Suspension Of Military Aid For Ukraine: "We Are Entering A New Era"

As you've seen from my posts, I am very cynical about MAGA, but, nonetheless, some outgrowths of Trump are good things, and one is the fact the Western Europe and other areas need to grown up. I mean, it's no wonder many nations have free healthcare etc. when the US is paying the defense bill. Anyway, myself, I've seen how emasculated people in my nations feel, so here's the chance that they can truly be independent.

I appreciate your argument that Western Europe and certain other regions should assume greater responsibility for their own defenses and economies. Of course, for a good while, this has been one burden that the US has had to carry along its own road; hence, other nations are expected to somehow slump in.

However, it is also pertinent to note that we need a good number of countries to carry their fair share in some other areas toward maintaining global security and economic stability.

I agree that it is time for certain countries to take ownership for their own economic and defense policies. The US can't continue to unilaterally shoulder the burden and it is healthy for other states to build their own capabilities and strategies.

That said, it is also important to recognize that this process takes time; these countries do not just wake up one day and become independent. Many of these states have gone through their own sets of complexities. So, they need to wake up on their responsibilities.

So, they need to wake up on their responsibilities.
But it shouldn't be America's responsibility to ween them off. They should figure out their budget and figure it out quickly.

Then, put the orders in for what they need with whatever they can scrounge up, obviously to American manufacturers (great for America), as America has the leading tech. They probably wouldn't want to put in any orders to China or Russia, or they'd be just as defenseless getting their older-era weapons as opposed to our stripped down versions that are still capable of dealing with China and Russia.
