off-topic Did you enjoy school?

For threads discussing subjects unrelated to the main forum topics.
I used to enjoy until my friends used to troll on small things, although it was not major but I used to hate that during those days

I liked high school and was involved in many different cliques that partied separately. If one party was going to be better than another, I could easily hop on over to it and still be able to get along and socialize with them as there were common friends that I had in each clique.

And, as far as college goes, I didn't really like going, but it wasn't an option as to get tuition and housing paid for, I needed to have a good attendance record. Some professors were cool with marking me as present when I wasn't, while others would be strict and make students show up.

I never really understood why professors made students come in when we were the ones paying for the classes and could still do the assignments and tests without a problem not having to hear the lecture as that was essentially them breaking down the textbooks...

It wasn't an option to be a no-show for the MBA course because there was a heavy percentage of our grade weighted toward teamwork as it was not only designed for critical thinking, but also how to manage groups and assign tasks or complete them as a group as you would in the management workforce. Also, since it was two 8-hour days every 3 weeks, missing even 1 would harm my attendance record.

I was really more focused on my studies in school with little opportunity to socialise. I can't really say that was enjoyment. With hindsight, I would have involved in more activities. I was obeying the old advice: go to school and get a good grade. That is not really a good piece of advice because that mentality only prepares you to work for another person's business. The only saving grace I had was that my dad was an enterprising person and his advice was very useful to me.

I really enjoyed school because everyday, I had to connect with people from different places. The community atmosphere in school was really interesting. The characters you had to interact with on a daily basis were unrestrictive. That's why I really enjoyed school.

I was never someone who enjoyed going to school at all. From playgroup and nursery through primary school and secondary school my mum had issues with me getting upset when she had to leave me or me being so anxious I couldn't take myself to school.

By about year 10, two years away from me finishing school, my anxiety got better and I started to enjoy school but by then, I was running out of time and even now, I wished I had enjoyed school more as they were the easiest times of your childhood, I just didn't see it at the time.

Regular school? No. Hated it. I was from a small town that everyone called rednecks and went to a school in a bigger town across the county. They treated us like hicks. I guess we were. But that made me hate it.

College? I loved it. I stayed in for 8 years and got 2 master's degrees. Today, I am glad to be done with it, though.

While college was great and I learned a lot, it took up a lot of my time. Now, I spend most of my time outdoors, and I love that way more than furthering my education. In fact, I learn more doing the things I love outdoors.
