Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story star Cooper Koch is ready for a killer role—literally. At the Academy Museum Gala, Koch revealed his next dream role: Patrick Bateman in Luca Guadagnino’s upcoming American Psycho. “I think I can do Patrick Bateman,” he told The Hollywood Reporter.

Guadagnino is currently finalizing a new adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis' 1991 novel, following the original 2000 film that starred Christian Bale as the psychopathic banker. Koch sees it as an exciting challenge, saying, "I haven’t played a serial killer yet."

Koch’s career has been gaining momentum since the release of his Netflix series, with multiple acting opportunities coming his way. “Things are moving, but nothing is locked in yet,” he said, hinting at potential future projects.

The new American Psycho film, penned by Scott Z. Burns, isn't a remake of the 2000 adaptation but a fresh take on the original novel. Produced by Frenesy Films and executive produced by Sam Pressman, it aims to reimagine the infamous character.

Meanwhile, Guadagnino’s current projects include Queer, starring Daniel Craig, which releases on November 27, and After the Hunt with Julia Roberts and Andrew Garfield in post-production. Koch praised Guadagnino's recent film Challengers, calling it his “favorite movie of the year,” while humorously describing himself as a "big gay tennis boy."

Followed by the truth.

American Psycho doesn't need a remake or reimagined character.

Let it be what it is. Forever.
