fitness Components of routine health checkup

This general fitness thread covers all aspects of fitness, including workouts, nutrition, wellness tips, lifestyle changes, and fitness advice.
1. Routine blood examination
I do this every 3 months to ensure my red blood cell count stays in a normal range. And to make sure it does, I have to donate blood every two months.
2. Routine stool and urine examination
They check my urine when I get my blood test done, but I'm unsure what they're looking for. I just know it's normal.
Maybe once every 5 years as I do have a heart murmur.
Upper GI endoscopy
Any time my heartburn gets crazy just to ensure there's no tissue damage. That's maybe once every 3 years as over-the-counter heart burn medicine can control it, and it's not too often that I have to take it anyway.
Routine stool
I never had a stool sample taken as it costs money to do unless you're referred by a doctor to have it done to look for something specific. The free way to do it is through the Japanese healthcare system as a free checkup. However, the way to do it is to poop in a box that they mail you, then you have to store it in your refrigerator before bringing it to a clinic the next day. No thanks.
Colonoscopy
Coming up on 40 and not looking forward to that exam...

I make sure to get regular examinations
Ah, yes. Dental, often very overlooked when referring to health.

Since I had Invisalign treatment done a couple of years ago, which was itself a 1½ year process of straightening (and shaping) my teeth to my liking, I get a regular cleanup done every 4 months. The visits also come with an Invisalign scan to ensure my teeth are still in the proper place as teeth will shift back to their original position if not cared for, wasting years to get back in place, and dumping thousands of dollars down the drain if not kept up.

Always shining bright and plaque free! 😬😅

It's also very important to check up because a gum infection can lead to death. Unfortunately, that's how my father-in-law's passing took place. He kept pushing off a dental visit, and then medical visit for the pain which would've caught the infection on time, until it was too late and he had to be hospitalized for it, which went downhill quickly. One would imagine you could see an infection like that and know something is wrong, but it was a silent creeper until it hit his brain and was too late to do anything.

So, brush your teeth!

Oooh!

Dental check up is something I missed!

I do plaque removal every year, but its quite costly so I steer free from it anways. I have three concerns in my dental examination

1. The tiny black spots which they call chromophobe or something like that.

2. I have 4 of my teeth removed due to the aphthous ulcers I have

3. Gum bleeds!

God, i need to do another check up!
