Do you like to watch war movies? Well, I do because war movies shows bravery and hardship, it tells us about history. What are your favorite war films? Why do you think these movies are good? Well, some of my best war movies are Patriot, Braveheart (both featuring Mel Gibson), Saving Private Ryan (with Tom Hanks), Schildler's List (Liam Neeson, Ralph Fines), etc.

In no particular order, these are some of my favorite war movies. I'm sure that I've left some (a lot) out...
  • Saving Private Ryan
  • American Shooter
  • Lone Survivor
  • 1917
  • Dunkirk
  • Black Hawk Down
  • Full Metal Jacket
  • Hacksaw Ridge
  • Fury
  • Enemy at the Gates

A lot of movies that you put in your list that I was considering.

I watched Midway this afternoon, for the second time. For a 2019 movie with a $100 budget, they could've done a little better with fire and the graveyard scene as it looked painted. Other than that, the storytelling from both sides made it a good war movie.

That's a good list of war films. I think my favourite are the Inglorious Basterds and 13 Hours. I like them very much but I’ll still have to look into the others too. Thanks for the head up.

We Were Soldiers and The Outpost are also my personal favorite. By the way have you watched Cold Mountain, it is a nice movie featuring Nicole Kidman and Jude Law.

I had the same thoughts too but the storyline made me overlook the small flaw to appreciate the better part of it.

Outpost was absolutely good.

Saving Private Ryan is of course a great film and is most likely my all-time favourite war film. I also like Hacksaw Ridge, which somebody else mentioned a bit earlier in the thread.

One of my own personal favourites is Black Hawk Down, a war film based on a true story of US forces getting trapped and pinned down during a mission in Mogadishu, I think it was sometime in the 90s. I've not seen the film for a while, but I've watched it many times in the past, and the action and tension is incredible!
