What are your opinions on films that adapt into TV shows or vice-versa? Does it usually take away the ingenuity of the original media? Does it make the overall premise more interesting?
I'm all for them trying and hope that they are successful in doing so.
I loved Shooter (Mark Wahlberg) and heard it's coming to a TV series with Wahlberg on staff (producer or director or something). If it lives up to the original movie, it will definitely be a series I'll watch.
I can't seem to think of any movies that were adapted into TV series that I've seen...
I like adaptations, books into movies, movies into games, game sin TV shows, TV shows into movies, and vice versa. This will bring in new taste. However, sometimes the spoil the original content in the name of creative freedom and I don't like that.
Adaptations can equally be considered positive or negative. When done rightly, they create new perspectives like The Walking Dead. But sometimes they become less charming than the original. It depends on its creativity and its implementation. I believe this is where adaptations are effective:
