50 Cent may be a decade removed from his last studio album, but the Hip-Hop star’s music continues to dominate the airwaves, even in the streaming era.
According to YouTube, the Southside Jamaica, Queens native accumulated the most streams of any New York rapper throughout the past year. The emcee, who has transitioned into an entertainment mogul, beat out fellow NYC natives including JAY-Z, Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, and The Notorious B.I.G.
In a post on social media, Fif celebrated his latest win while referencing an old diss track on which he threw shots at his rivals from his hometown.
From Jan. 21, 2024 to Jan. 21, 2025, 50 Cent’s music amassed 1.89 billion streams, far outpacing his peers.
Fellow Queens native Nicki Minaj, who came in second on the list, was the only other New York rap artist to garner over one billion streams on the platform, with Cardi B, JAY-Z, and late Brooklyn rapper Pop Smoke serving as distant runner-ups.
Cardi B, who rounded out the top three, received 921 million YouTube streams, while Hov finished that period with 721 million streams on the platform. Pop Smoke, who was murdered during a botched-robbery in 2020, brought in 715 million streams with his music.
Other notable New York rappers who ranked high on YouTube’s streaming list include A$AP Rocky(619 million), Biggie (567 million), Busta Rhymes(412 million), diddy(386 million), dmx (376 million) and nas (313 million).
